Editions Explained?

The purpose of this post is to explain and keep track of my editioning process.

As I am just starting to offer prints, I am also at the early stages of determining what kind of editions to put on offer. I expect to experiment with different types of editions, and my initial plan is to keep track of these editions on this page. This page can also serve as a reference that defines a particular edition type.

Digitally Signed Open Edition Print

Most of the prints offered here will be digitally signed, open edition prints. This means the edition is open and that the print is not numbered or limited. These prints offer an option to enjoy the artwork at a discounted price, and usually an option to get the print in a few different sizes, either framed or unframed.

  • Digital Signature

Prints are created on-demand by my excellent printmaking service, on a matte art paper, rendered in very high resolution, and I've been very happy with how they look.

Digitally Signed Limited Edition Print

I would like to be able to offer limited edition prints, but at the moment I am not set up for this process. Something to look forward to.

  • Digital signature
  • Numbered (e.g., 1/25)

Signed Special Limited Editions

At some point I would like to offer signed limited editions. These will be "special" because they won't happen very often.

  • Individually numbered and signed (with my favorite pen)

Commissioned Artwork

I am sometimes open to commissions.

  • Unique artwork
